On Nov. 24-25, 2005, Prime Minister Paul Martin promised national Aboriginal leaders at Kelowna five billion dollars for housing, health and education. This crucial commitment has since been ERASED by the Harper government. Instead, at least twenty billion has been contracted for 65 new American warplanes, all to be bought from and build by Lockheed Martin in the U.S.A. This fortune could produce 200,000 new, safe, warm, healthy homes and employ/train a million Canadians to do the job.
We simply cannot tolerate Ottawa's strangulation of nationally and desperately needed activity on Canada's number one priority need: Affordable Housing. Over the past four decades, we have learned that the only way to get the attention of federal power is by appropriate demonstration.
Therefore please join us in a total of at least 1,560 participants not only on the Hill Thursday March 1, 2012 but on all roads leading to it, by carrying tiny hand-held model houses of your chosen design - log, frame, cardboard or whatever. Use of Parliment Hill Committee has approved the Demonstration, but cannot permit props like a structural pyramid. So be prepared to wear our 1,560 little houses around our 1,560 necks, except for the Waldo who wears the little F35. After we gather to welcoming First Nations drumming and singing, Event Hostess Olivia Chow's Greeting address will be followed by Prayer, then speeches by Frontiers Foundation President, Lawrence Gladue, C.M. and other outstanding Aboriginal and Canadian leaders.
Please join us on the Hill Thursday, March1, 2012 and return the attached participation form ASAP
